I was wondering if there were any other fans of this on MAP. I've been listening to this stuff for over a year now and it has really helped me with my sleeping problems. I virtually have no issues with going to sleep now, but it's not just to lull you to sleep. It can also be very relaxing. For those of you who do not know what ASMR is, go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonomous_sensory_meridian_response And here: http://www.qsound.com/demos/virtualbarbershop_long.htm And finally, here: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3pNwmtg078"]106. 3D Vigorous Head Massage (Binaural - Wear Headphones) - SOUNDsculptures - ASMR - YouTube[/ame] People commonly call ASMR, 'tingles' because it best describes the feeling. For some it's a natural feeling and may have felt it before and for some it's an acquired feeling. Of course there are those who never get the feeling and either stop listening to it or are contempt with it just being a relaxing experience. And some will just straight up think people who like this stuff are weirdos. Some youtube channels I'd recommend to those who are interested: http://www.youtube.com/user/SOUNDsculptures http://www.youtube.com/user/HeatherFeatherASMR http://www.youtube.com/user/ASMRByDesign Many people don't like the intimate vibe they get from some of these youtubers, so if you're one of those you should avoid channels like HeatherFeather and are best off sticking to channels like SOUNDsculptures. p.s. sorry mods, but I have no idea where this belongs so I just posted it here. *EDIT* I totally forgot to mention headphones are a MUST.
I find sleep a fascinating topic and if I had my time over again I'd like to help people professionally. http://www.martialartsplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93777 http://www.martialartsplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93727
I think it was your threads which introduced me to the power nap, I like taking these sometimes when I feel tired but I still have stuff to do that day. Although I have to wonder if ASMR is a legit tool to get people sleeping. It worked for me, but I'm not sure if it's something reliable. I mostly like listening to it now for relaxation.
yo! i indulge in ASMR videos occasionally, purely for enjoyment. i tend to like the interactive ones, or the more eccentric ones that generate immersion, such as the 'departure' sci-fi ones, and ephemeral rift's plague doctor character.
I suppose it depends on my mood. Sometimes I just want the vigorous trigger videos and sometimes I like the role-plays and such. Eccentric indeed haha. Some of them are pretty out there. :ninja2:
indeed this one is pretty cool: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lqTZrDarHk"]Patient 14 "The Quiet One" - The Files of Dr. C. D. Clemmons, ASMR Plague Doctor - YouTube[/ame]
