I understand both styles are Kyokushin's runaway children, but I do not understand the differences between Ashihara and Enshin. They both teach Sabaki. The founder of Enshin was a student of Ashihara and Kyokushin. What are the main differences between Ashihara and Enshin? They look so much identical that I cannot tell them apart. Are there even differences?
It's a long time since I did Enshin, and I haven't done any Ashihara, but I believe the kata are different and the kumite rules too. The Enshin I did really emphasised movement and grappling in addition to solid power. Here's a thread from some years ago that covers Kyokushin/Ashihara/Enshin and some thoughts on them. Gary - Enshin was my Enshin Sensei in the UK at the time, though he has retired now. Hope that helps
