I don't know. Remember his opinion was that of superiority rather than combat effectiveness. Not the same thing really.
In another video he talks about a lot of martial arts practice in Japan having nothing to do with fighting, but being about the Japanese concept of "genki" (3 minutes in).
It's definatly a closely related concept, If your skills only work on poor fighters, then your also a poor fighter!
Oh it is the superiority comes from the fact they are doing something different, better than the simple meat heads They have the real answer and are above what others are doing that's the false sense of security and superiority that this sort of compliant training breeds and that's what I was meaning when I said the ufc should have sorted this out. It showed that the so called special secret training ideas didn't work
