young girls are normally averse to the idea, as they think it's a 'guy thing', but it's amazing how much more flexible women are than men, giving them a natural advantage at times.

anyways, good luck. if it were a boy, it'd be pretty easy. when you're a kid, being a ninja (ie. being able to kick) is like the coolest thing ever.

At age 45, I hardly feel like I'm "Middle Aged" though I was brought up during the Middle Ages. :D

When I came into TKD i thought it would be mostly teens but it dosen't surprise that the majority of practioners are 'young adults'. Intersestingly this thread seems to be acting just as much as a self esteem raiser as an informative poll :D

I don't want to be middle aged, I much prefer the term "executive division" which the T.A.G.B. have. Although this makes me think of somebody sparring and doing patterns with a bowler hat, briefcase and umbrella for some reason. :D

Yeah I like that terminology too. Executive Division, then Senior Executive.

Does sound a bit like you'd be sparring in a pinstriped Dobok. :D

Shame I can only vote the once - my eldest daughter (14) & son (10) both train as well. I'm still trying to convionce the youngest daughter to come along, although I can safely say I've given up on the wife ever having a go!

At 36 I'm not sure the word "young" applies (sure as hell doesn't feel like it does!), but thanks for the thought ;)

Ooh, I like this poll, it classes me as a "young adult". Nice! :D
I'm 26 and took up TKD at age 26. LOL. I've only been doing it 5 months. :)

Ha ha...no wonder 35 (same age as me) was still classified as 'young adult'. I was like WHOOOO HOOO!!! I'm still young when it comes to this poll.

    :D

    Yes 35 is a young adult,its my poll :D .

Maturity is different in men and women. Women grow up and think farts and **** gags aren't funny any more. Men know they're wrong :D

Right with ya Kwang Gae! I am 44 and also an "Executive". I laughed when I found out that classification. No way I would ever be confused with an Executive.... :D

I am going to be picky about this, but I will not do the poll because it asks about ages of TKD players and Taekwon Do is not something that I play at. I am a 25 year old martial artist. I believe some countries Taekwondo is considered a game one plays, and some students and instructors here in America too, but not me. I know I am being picky and bullheaded about it, but as a former wrestler (a sport, yes, but not one that wrestlers ever say they 'play') and a martial artist, I take my training seriously. (Please do not take offense at my terminology dispute, I am not questioning anyones' skill). I personally just do not like the term player because I feel it takes away from the understanding that TKD can be a deadly form of self defense which can do serious damage (not that I have ever used it as such, nor have I ever needed to, thankfully). I know I am new to these forums and I am already ruffling some feathers, but I mean no disrespect.

Be picky,it's ok.Theres all kinds of play, rough play, moderate play and childs play. But it don't matter if your a mma guy,or someone that likes doing tai chi at the park,we are all players until attacked by someone with the intent to inflict bodily harm on us.

I grew up doing boxing and wrestling myself,we always used the term play when we wanted to initiate sparring or training. It does not somehow degrate any art,its just a word.
