    the 6 methods of defense

    1. hard vs hard: e.g. knife hand block
    2. hard vs soft: e.g parry
    3. jamming
    4. catching
    5. evasion
    6. absorption: taking the blow like in muay thai or boxing

I personally use evasion, hard vs soft most of the time.

    how about you guys

    How about
    1. walking away and turning the other cheek.
    2. humour
    3. running very quickly

Not being sarccy but best form of defence, not having to defend yourself in the first place.

Absence of body is better than presence of mind.

"street scenario...?(immediately after "gut-feel" defines situation as imminently dangerous and Avoidance,Prevention and Escape failed):
    -deceptive stance and posturing.
    -defensive/pre-emptive paralysing strike
    -take-down/final decisive "cut"
-evasion/escape (join crowd and "vanish" through deceptive stance and posturing)
