    I agree with you! I really don't know what the fuss is. Many people get black belts in a few years. So say it takes 4 years, training twice per week for 2 hours. Thats 832 hours... To do that in one year would involve 16 hours training per week. Which is quite possible if you don't work and have the school that teaches enough hours...

    And blackbelt generally only means a competant standard of knowledge and ability. It doesn't stand for being a martial arts demi god. In Japan it seems to mean less than other places, they don't class it as so big of a deal...

    Usually so! I still think theres a few real schools dotted around the world that are capable of getting you upto this standard in 12 months...
