Cool, gotcha friended. :) I'm definitely looking forward to KC... hoping Wallace brings his marshmallow gun again this year. ;) See ya in a couple. :)
Hey Steve, it was great to meet you too! I'm Glen Luke, and my bro is John Ross (we go by both names together, kinda weird I know ^^). See ya soon. :)
I am a student at Roanoke Aikido. :) A quick overview: We bow in and say a prayer, then warm up with rolls, stretches based on techniques, etc. Coach will demonstrate/explain a technique, then we drill it as he watches and corrects. Often he'll follow the technical explanation with an example of real world application, showing why we do things this way. After some practice we'll move to another technique, often one that is connected to the previous or that the previous one led into, a chain. Sometimes we'll end with a "free flowing" drill, to get used to applying things in an unpredictable environment. We aren't perhaps as formal as some dojos (we like to joke and have fun, and Coach will often follow Japanese instructions with English, rather than strictly doing everything in Japanese), but we do take our training seriously. Questions are encouraged, if you don't understand something or want to know more about it, Coach is happy to explain. I look forward to meeting you. :)
