      Hi Troy

I like where you are coming from in your line of reasoning and questioning, but believe me when I say I have been here before in the whole Gyokko Ryu Tojutsu debate. The problem is that here on the forum people do not understand the concept of "Burden of Proof" and they work from the idea that a belief (In this case Hatsumi and Ishitani line TYR) stands until it is dispoven.

So I feel that unless you can prove that Hatsumi didnt learn Ishitani line, then they will take it as they have won and hatsumi knows the Ishitani line.

As I say "Burden of proof" is an alien concept here.

      Regards Gary Arthur

      Hi Darryl,
That would be great. I look forward to hearing back from you. If you could ask him where he gets his Takagi Yoshin Ryu Biken jutsu from. What line?

      Kind Regards,

      Troy Wideman

      Hi Troy,

My pleasure to help as much as I can though I fear I did not answer your questions. I will spend sometime going through the thread and find yours and couple of other people's questions and put them together and present them to Kacem. I also know Kacem would be happy to talk about the scroll as much as he can. He loves to share information and sometimes get into a nice friendly debate. I understand your point about having no ill will against Kacem. I can see that in the posts you have written. The more I think about it the more I think I'll call him tonight and ask him directly some questions. I thought the thread asked some very nice questions that I too would like to know about. I think some people tend to blow their chest up more than they should. Some of Kacem's students don't have anywhere near the experience kacem has and should realize this and not go out on public forums and pretend they do.

      HI Darryl,

I can't thank you enough for taking the time to answer my questions. Please understand I have no ill will to your teacher and think he is a very talented martial artist from what I have viewed on youtube. I would love to meet with him to discuss the scroll, if he would give me the chance. Possibly meet him in Toronto next time he is here. We obviously can't train because we are in different organizations but we can be friendly because our mutual interest in the takamatsu den. Thank you again and I look forward to hearing from you.

My name is Darryl Ingalls and I have been following the thread where you were asking about iai patterns. I find some of your questions interesting and some of them deserving of an answer. I am a direct student of Kacem Zoughari. I have been taught koho seigan nuki and mae seigan nuki. Now which ryu-ha these come from I do not know (at this point I don't care). But he takes his time when he teaches these, meaning, I have been practicing these two for about two years now. He won't show me anymore until I have these down to his standards.

Anyway, Kacem will be in my home in the middle of July for a seminar in NY. I can ask him any questions you'd like and see if he'll answer them. Maybe with his permission I can arrange a phone conversation around then and you can ask him directly. That way there is no lost in translation from him to me and me to you. Maybe he can answer them for you well enough. But If you are interested I can attempt this.
