It is true, many martial artists don't know how to fight. the world is not as violent as it was. The majority of martial artists have never had an encounter with unscripted, non consensual violence. this is a good thing. real violence is deeply unpleasant for all concerned. BUT, if you have never done something you can't really say that you can do it.
