    Hows your back :)

    Nice time.

    What's your 1RM?

Not that bad to honest, thought I'd be worse. Maybe not the best of decisions as I've got box squat and deficit deads tomorrow!

I'm unsure on the 1rm front, I've stopped maxing out in the gym for a while trying to get a half decent 'base' built up. I've doubled 200 with decent speed so I'm hoping 220 is close.

I've stickied this thread so MAPpers can post challenges

As such, I'd like to get a weekly challenge going with folks here.
Please feel free to add your own challenges whenever you have an idea, whatever they may be

I would like to propose the first challenge, open for only one week (I will post a new weightlifting challenges every saturday night):
    Index fingers deadlift

Same as a regular deadlift but performed with only your index fingers.
You may perform this challenge as many times as you like during the week but remember to post your highest score here. This challenge is for the heaviest 1 rep you can perform.
From C17 of the all round lifters association document:

As usual, injuries are not liable to anyone on this thread and challenges are performed under your own risk.

If you post a video and proof of your weight, you may even set a new record!

Also i did 120 deadlifts at 105kg in 12:03 last week for charity.

I used 105 becasue it was the 1rm of the a man trying to correct my deadlift technique.

    1) Good grief, what brings you out of the wood work?!

    2) Glad to see you back :)

    3) Hahahaha! Admit it, you took no small amount of satisfaction in doing that, didn't you?

I haven't had a go at this latest challenge yet, hoping to stop off in the gym briefly tomorrow so I'll be sure to give the latest challenge a go first. :)

Thank you all for your participation in the Index finger deadlift challenge.
    Entry is now closed.
Steve is a definite winner but we'll revisit this challenge at a later date and see if we get any improvements in personal records.

I must emphasise that to fully participate in this challenge - post results on this thread so progress can be monitored on return to this challenge.

The next challenge will be: Lunge Squat each leg, alternating, for 5 reps each
You may perform this challenge as many times as you like during the week but remember to post your highest score here. This challenge is for the heaviest 5 reps you can perform on each leg, alternating.
This is modified from D3 of the all round lifters association document:

So wait, do we have to lunge 1 time each each leg for it to count/1 lunge on either leg or 5 times w/ each leg to count as our 1rm?

Also, the link isn't working for me so I've gotta ask - knee supports, yay or nay?

My bad, I copied the rules from the last challenge. Edited it now.
One lunge on one lunge is half a rep. You have to perform on one leg and then the other.
5 reps on each leg, alternating legs between reps.

The rule book is on the homepage here:
    http://www.iawa.org.uk/

Just tried a short session with 40kg. not hard. then i tried with 50 and stepped forward with my back leg on the recovery - fail.

will give it a shot again tomorrow

Eh, I have to log 50 today. It was going great, ploughing through 60 which was still going up and down nicely and then I did something wrong and caused myself an enormous amount of pain. Entirely my fault for not warming up properly prior to trying though. But I might be out for the rest of the week.
