What do MA think of the Abrahamic God?

Impossible for a rational, educated person to believe in in good faith. At least I can't see a way.

I used to think the same as you because I was an atheist. But I changed my beliefs to Christianity, and I am willing to have a discussion or debate with you (or anyone else) if you want.

You say that educated rational people don't believe in God, but some of the biggest intellectuals - Newton, Pascal, Spinoza, Augustine and others all believed in him.

 

I dislike certain members of his fan club - other than that he is just one of many that are believed in; no more, no less

 

Name contemporaries and ensure that they believe in good faith. Anyone operating logically will say that faith is not an acceptable standard for juries or scientists to reach their conclusions; the same is not true for religious beliefs.

 

Just one myth among many, makes no damn sense except as a really really contradictory morality tale.

 

Ultimately God is empty.

Either way God like everything else is empty.

By that I mean that you can't show me God, you can't show me the one thing that makes God God.

Even at the most superficial level God is only God because you see "him" as such.

There is no proof for any God, and I don't believe in any of the other gods, therefore I am an atheist.


What confuses people is the attachment bonds we have to our parents, that's makes us think there is always something bigger and cleverer then us, looking out for us.

There's not, there's just us, our genetic tribe, and everyone we've ever affected. And that's enough for me.

God is a Believer. And he is bigger than I can describe. Other belivers follow his command. God says leave me (alone) with him whom I created alone. In Islam. This means that this "hospital raider", the one, the "crazy" one is diciplined by God by your definition. God exists. How can Buddhists cry to/because of emptiness?

 

You still haven't shown me God. You talk about other things, things that are just component parts of an concept.

God is everywhere. Noone can see him. Although I heard tales about that 5 strong Prophets only will be able to see him. Muhammed. Moses. Jesus. ... Noah? And one more.

I disagree that religion is based solely on faith. There are logical arguments for and against God to be considered.

Scientists are observing observable objects - however God is not observable. Perhaps alternative methodologies need to be employed. An element of faith is, I believe, necessary.

I could also criticise parallel universes for possibly being unobservable.
