Well... One year ago today. I'm still somewhat mystified that Americans would choose such a very vulgar and ugly man to be president, but the recent election offer some glimmer of hope. Still, three years to go and I doubt that 2018 will go extraordinarily well for Dems.
Trump literally copy pasted a tweet where he offered thoughts and prayers to the families and victims of the Sutherland, TX, shootings for the victims of the Rancho Tehama elementary school shooting. I don't know which is worse, that our President is so thoughtless and lazy that he just copy pastes his tweets about mass shootings, that the phrase thoughts and prayers really is that meaningless, or that politically these mass shootings HAVE become equivalent. We will go through the same motions once again as the body toll rises.
I was gonna say, him copy and pasting it is actually, to me, probably the most genuine answer a political person can give to a shooting in America.

I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses for him , but , surely the people around him should be vetting what he tweets ?
I would hope that a person claiming to have the ability to lead a nation of 325 million people would have the ability to vet their own tweets.
I see what you're saying but I disagree. A person should take personal responsibility for the things they say, the things they endorse and the things they share. If they can't do that then they should shut up and keep their (small) mitts off the internet. If they can do that and say, share or endorse something by mistake or because they didn't look into things enough then stand up, apologise, admit the mistake and explain why it was a mistake.
He's refused that hasn't he, besides should a president really have to be told to not repost a snuff film?
I've seen mention in various articles that Trump's advisers do try to contain his tweeting, but he doesn't listen to them.
it just saddens me so much to see this dumpster fire of a man leading my nation. he's lessened america. just can't believe we have three more years of this to go.
