The Martial Art of Boxing

    The discussion here not too long ago about "why boxing is best" made me think of this article. It summarizes a lot of the key points we were talking about:

    That's the thing. I never participated in that discussion about boxing being the best martial art, but the thing that I notice is that the best/most effective martial arts are those that spar at 100%. The normal cop out is that if all of the arts were sparred at full speed, people would die, but I don't completely buy that because even Krav Maga spars. I think that if most striking martial arts sparred full contact, they would eventually resemble boxing, kick boxing, and muay thai.

    Yeah. I mentioned in the other thread that I thought it was the headset and training method of boxing more than the techniques. I'm not looking to start that discussion up again, particularly. I just re-read this article and thought it made some good points.
