I dunno how I feel about that. However the guy that directed the last one (Justin Lin) I didn't like very much. His stunts have always been a bit too far-reaching and unrealistic for me. He borders the believable and turns it into a child with some action figures.... If that makes sense. Case in point the final stunt involving the bike. Or pretty much all of the Fast and Furious films he has directed (save for Tokyo Drift which was fine). Also not too interested in an R-rated gore fest. Not really in the spirit of Star Trek.
Hopefully, it'll won't be a gore fest. Graphic, yes to be in keeping with a war like film. But not Saving Private Ryan gorey. It will be filled with awkward conversations about gakh with cheese and maybe some extra swearing. I do agree about the Justin Lin style of Directing, lots of over the top actioners and not much Trek-king. There's even a side by side video comparison with ST Beyond and his FF films doing the same stunts and camera work.
I actually liked the last film. But I really didn't like the motorbike stunt scene, St can be an action fun sci-fi film, but it's definitely not just that, I like the variation of the world.
Patrick Stewart Might Reprise Jean-Luc Picard Role if Tarantino Directs 'Star Trek' Tarabtino doing tng sounds like a strange beast indeed!
Prof X coming back as JLP? Sold. Sam L Jackson most likely to be cast and throwing profanity within the Trek Universe? Conflicted Yes!!
If it's via the JJ license, it'll have to be the kelvin timeline too, so lots of scope to not be bound by Canon Tng.
To be fair. Patrick Stewart is 70 years old and although still quite spritely (Blunt Talk), I won't hold out for anything more than a flashback/cameo role. Maybe get Tom Hardy to play as a younger JLP again?
I had the time of my life seeing Wil Wheaton do that with the last movie in The Big Bang Theory And yeah, just to entirely ruin my reputation: I actually like Wesley Crusher!
I'm a little nervous but I'll post some pictures. I got a Captains uniform Tee shirt that I'm hoping arrives before the film starts.
Watching season 3 of Enterprise and the military team are training the security team and they're doing panantukan
I'm just watching season three too, enterprise had such promise, but some (not all) of the early episodes were sooo boring, it feels like they really missed an opportunity, so far season three is great though!
I'm definitely considering giving Enterprise a go. What's the style of it like? Got a similar show I could relate it to?
Who cares! Watch it! And I'm not blinded, being a fan who just loved that show and still wishes, there were more of it Did I mention to just watch it?
Its a more "realistic" star trek, first two seasons do drag a bit, with a few great exceptions. End of second season on is great! This review is spot on.
It's very much it's own animal, I quite enjoy the first two seasons, I like the nuance of Star Trek without the Prime Directive. Season 3 does have much more of a Battle Star Galactica feel though. Fun fact linking this whole thread together, Seth MacFarlane is in season 3.
