So it removes any chance of me finding a diffrent study to the one you are citing. None of your buisness again. Because of the first point, if you are citing research you need to make said research accessible in your point.

Also, unless you cite me the actual paper i am going to reject it out of principle. I dont know what AIBA stands for either.

The MAP thread would be a ok sub so long as it actually contains a link to the research being cited. :p

I see its not just physical training you are lazy about...

What principle would that be? "Ignorance is bliss?"

You're confusing a lack of citation with a lack of their existence, although in this case icefield did offer evidence that you're willfully ignoring. The research is easily accessible and he has no obligation to spoon feed it to you.

You could use the ball of your hand and hit hard with that.

@Rataca: Being too lazy to do some little searches yourself and being big mouthed, because others won't help you find something.
I'm sure people with stand in a line now, to help you find a link.
Since you're being so nice and not lazy at all.

I dont doubt they exist, but i feel like i am under no obligation to assume that quote is accurate to the research. Screen shot would have been better.

This entire thing can be easily ended with a link to the reseach being cited.

To save any counters, i am no intrested in anything else but a link to the research. My response is to be assumed any combination of what i wrote above unless research is cited.

You don't have to assume anything about this when the internet is apparently at your fingertips. It's not like you tried to find it but couldn't, and then asked for help with a link.

I just opened a tab on my browser, pointed it to google, and typed in AIBA.

The first result, the very first result, was the relevant one.

Look, people are trying to help you here on MAP. They are giving you a veritable goldmine of advice which you are telling them you will ignore for a variety of reasons that range from semantics to not being able to use google.

It's getting to the point where it's hard to interpret some of your posts as anything other than trolling, and that will get you banned from MAP. Because asking for citation links from everyone and dismissing everything else out of hand whilst being unwilling to use google is nonsense.

So it's your choice; ask sensible questions, get sensible answers, be willing to do some legwork yourself, and MAP will be an enormous help to you in your MA career.

Or carry on as you are and not only will people just get bored of trying to help someone who makes no effort themselves, but we may also eventually have to reluctantly conclude that you're a troll and you'll be banned.

Here's a suggestion. Go to your training thread and take one of the routines suggested by smitfire, jaydub, myself, or anyone else. Do it for one week and post your results every workout day. Do that again 4 times. Train TKD 2 or 3 times a week during that time. Eat well during that time.

I guarantee you will see positive results. Guarantee it.

I'm not sure if you don't get it or your just being facetious... Striking, even light striking, is not grappling. You keep the fight standing with grappling, you win by striking, but I'm pretty sure you already know that...

Yeah so your one of the cross training guys I was talking about in an earlier post. In my opinion, you would get similar results from cross training in MMA and dance, or some other non-martial movement culture, as you would get from cross training in kung fu and MMA. You may actually get a little more benefit from something like dancing because there tends to be more of a creative focus.

Yeah its more about enjoyment and health for me, I think most people start martial arts to learn to fight, self defence etc. But they stay for the love of the grind.

Yeah you could, in some ways that would actually make it easier to pull your strikes and save your training partner a few brain cells.

What lead you to that conclusion?

Correct it isn't - it is however pointless in an MMA context unless you are grappling light to go with it or are willing to sell a punch, so again will become a grappling match

I am guessing you have never actually competed - fair assessement?

Im going to go out on a limb and say, pending the dance it can work the same muscles and to the same degree as martial arts training can. But i dont think he realises some dancing can be as dogmatic as martial arts though and not all of them are born equally. :p

Dont quote me on it though, i have not done it and have only shown a intrest in a few types.

This also glitched slightly on my end and posted before i intented it to.

Did you ever get hit by properly by the ball of the hand?
I really doubt, that a proper hit like that would save brain cells.
The trauma doesn't come from the fist, it comes from the brain being slung around in the skull.

This really can't be that hard to understand surely, you are severally limiting one part of your arsenal striking but not the other, grappling so of course it's going to heavily favour a grappler and turn into a grappling contest pretty quickly

Well i thought it was simple to grasp, but to be fair if someone has enthusiasm but is inexperienced it can lead to theorizing about things

So, you also consider kung fu useless as a martial art? Because that was the point he was making.

I share the thought line that its not the best out of the box one for fighting nowadays. (what ever the reason) But i need to mention i do want to try a kung fu style and do generally hold a intrest in doing it.

I wouldn't say I'm cross-training in MMA - I go to an MMA gym and spar with MMA people, using Chinese martial arts. IE; I'm testing my current training, against MMA practitioners.

I get the feeling that the kungfu classes you've been exposed to have mainly been form-focused? Solo forms, pre-set partner work etc? This would explain why you are comparing Chinese martial arts to dance.
