Ok, im back. I am now struggling with kicking past front kicks and side ones.

So, since i am not the most flexable or agile person and have not gone to a TKD lesson for a while i have dulled my kicking ability basically back to front kicks and to some degree side ones. What would the starter kicks be as in msot improtant to learn. I am also semi struggling with fidning info due to me not knowing the names of diffrent kicks and the terminology diffrence.

By the way, kicking a punching bag with shoes on outside, good or bad? Because thats all i do training wise and i ahve tried to ad hoc a Roundhouse kick i think. Any info on the kicks would be nice as well.

(will edit the spelling mistakes out at a later date, as you know i am bad at asking question also. i may be underestimating my knolwedge, that happens as well)

What has your instructor told you to start with?

From recollection, front kick, back kick, spinning kick and side kick. I have since forgotten spinning and back kick. as i have not gone for a while. Even if i do go ther eis no guarantee they will do kicking in the context to practice/learn it. Actually, i might be able to do a back kick, the kick itself isnt the problem there the set up and how to do it is. Sorry for late response.

With the upmost respect you really do need to find f class to have a kick worth talking about.

if you can't get to a class you are just training for a bit of flexibility and cardio.

If that's the case You Tube is as good a source as anything else.

if though you plan on regularly going to a class then don't train bad habits.

A kick like any other technique needs setting up.

Balance, timing, speed, distance, recovery and so on are all attributes to be trained alongside doing the actual kick.

I really need to go back to TKD, i cant maintain my feet that well though. I would say i have been trying to do combos with front kicks. I prefer and feel more confident/comfortable doing hand strikes though, which is a plus to my dilemma i feel as i won't use them if i needed to. Will look into going back to it. It is all personal reasons why i dont go that often, its annoying since i do semi enjoy sparing. Going from no kicking to kicking as a main is a chore though.
