Anyone in the Newcastle,Sunderland, Teeside or surrounds area looking to train authentic Jeet Kune Do? As newly appointed IFO group leader under Sifu Tommy Carruthers. I will be opening up an IFO group very shortly.

These classes teach REAL JKD and practical STREET self defence/preservation techniques. Many thanks.

    Welcome to MAP.

I'm afraid we don't allow link s back to personal sites, or any free advertising.

Please contact me directly if you'd like to place an advert.

Now that's out the way congratulations of being promoted to group leader under Tommy.

Hope the classes work out for you.

I'm sure the rabble here will have questions regarding real JKD and the self defence aspects of the art.

Rick Faye clearly miss understands JKD then beacuse its designed for ANYONE, so long as they are human and have 2 arms and 2 legs then JKD is perfectly suitable!

Your way is not my way nor mine yours

I am sure someone loosely connected to JKD said that once....

Its actually 'using no way AS way' that your referring to and Bruce meant by that that JKD is not restricted or bound to anything, NOT that people of different size and stature cant make it work for them

Thats not remotely funny my friend. grow up. The point I am trying to make is as long as you are HUMAN (ie normally with 2 arms and 2 legs etc...) then JKD can work as it was BUILD on maximising the human body in the area of unarmed combat

Well this doesn't seem to be going as the OP intended. :)

Sifu Tommy was just using him to demonstrate how to apply the tools, same stance, opposite stance, illustrating the opponents reaction dictates the next move etc... The other guy not meant to be trying to block or evade or counter its just a demo

One thing that's always bothered me about the Tommy Carruther's demos is that he's a glaring example of that problem where the attacker is moving slowly (or not at all) while the defender is moving as quick as they can. That's always a bit of a red flag. I've no doubt Tommy could kick me into next week but in terms of demos I prefer the attacker and defender to be moving with the same intensity.
Either both slow or both fast.

Ive been training in JKD under Sifu Tommy for over 20 years, teaching under my own capacity in both class and 1 -1 formats for the last 7 years. I have shown people of all walks of like, all shapes and sizes, levels of ability what Bruce Lees JKD, Scientific Street Fighting is all about. I think that qualifies as 'experienced' enough dont you? being At the end of the day when it all boils down being able to run off every single thing Bruce Lee ever said is meaningless if you dont actually know what he stood for in and what he was trying to convey to the world.
