    Hello guys,

I've been wondering how to do low kick to head kick with the same leg. Just to refer to Tony Jaa's final fight in Ong Bak. I've seen Michael Jai White also who did the same kind of kick to Scott Adkins in another movie.

Does anybody know how to do this kind of kick? Thanks.

Is there a You Tube clip you can show us?

My guess is the answer will be strength and balance, but it'd be easier with a point of reference.

Fake low and hit high would be preferable, otherwise it won't cause much damage.

Otherwise just kick low, rechamber, and kick high again.

Remember movies are not real life!

If you are kicking off the lead leg:

    1) Don't commit to the low kick but use it to set up the consecutive kick either by feinting or letting it land with less force.

    2) follow up with a switch kick rather than a lead to lead

    3) start with switch kick and throw multiples of that position by planting the lead leg on the ball of the foot and repeating your hip twist off there. You will need to be able to throw multiple kicks at body level to implement this.

Other options will be more semi-contact orientated and I'm not into that personally.

    Off the power side:

    1) throw the kick as you would throwing multiple body kicks.

    2) throw the leg kick then land in Southpaw and throw the next kick as a lead right (based on opponent's retreat).

What style of striking do you train?

It's all about chambering the kicks and not committing.

Flexibility. Both kicks are flick kicks.

You also got the Question Mark Kick aka Caporeira Kick. Which looks exactly like it's called. Drawing a big ? with your foot over the length of the opp's body.

Bisping did that a lot against Wanderlei Silva

Did you try any of the things I suggested?

    Can you:

    A) switch kick?
    B) throw multiple kick of the same leg to a consistent target?

You can watch Ong Bak final fight on YouTube where Tony Jaa executes that kick

While requiring balance etc it isn't particularly complicated either: it's just using momentum and staying on the ball of your foot.

Is it basically not part of the sequence 30s in on this clip?

I've seen Uriah Hall do this on an instagram clip on a heavy bag. Puts a surprising amount of power into it.
