if i had to make a fighting game i would make one of most of the MA's out there. the ones that alota people dont kno about. i would include the flair and beauty of it along with the real life techniques. Realistic and cool. there would be dozens of characters with almost all ofthe styles. that would be one of tthe best games of the genre
Search for "Kensei: Sacred Fist" for the Playstation. That's pretty realistic (Read: YOU CAN'T HOP OVER PEOPLE'S HEADS, You can hop over footsweeps, you can headbutt when desperate)
Hey, Shortfuse. Don't you think your idea is a little vauge? Try to flesh out the idea, figure out what exactly you want in the game and how you want it done. That can be fun. I am going to school for game programming and in one of my classes, we all had to do that with are own ideas. I am not saying keep posting your ideas here on the forums, just think about it. Mabye even document it. Not to sound mean, but your idea is probably where most fighting games started from. Look at fighting games, see what they did right and what they did wrong. Thinking about things like this will help expand your mind, allowing you to come up with better solutions, mabye even outside of video games.
Personally, I'm really partial to the latest games in the Virual Fighter series. Especially in that in certain stances some fighters get an automatic counter (ie. Jackie's Pak). The reason I like this is that it allows the game to allow the fighters to go "instinctual" at times. I think the fight physics are some of the best and the moves all pretty real. You don't get any advantage for going to the air either. Plus it has a Xing Yi type of system in it (and how much does that rock?). - Matt

Virtua Fighter is great, the only problem I have is juggling. I'm no experienced fighter, but I don't think a small Chinese woman can keep a large wrestler suspended in the air by lightly slapping him... I love Aoi! Nonetheless, I think it's the most realistic thing out there.
lol thats true, i like it because it shows u that alot of real style weapons are good. and its kinda realistic cept for ivy
then you need to play kengo! I think that's what it's called, you can only fight with the katana though :-( classy game though. Don't think it's quite as good as Bushido blade, but that was such a class game.
I played Bushido Blade. What's his face, Tatsumi or whatever could use two swords. Total ownage. In Virtua Fighter 4, it is pretty realistic. Save for Jackie's doing damage with a backflip. Anyways.. Aoi.. I hate her. She killed me once, so I'm 743-1. THANK YOU AOI! :woo:
aoi is nails total nails heh I think that the kickboxer well I think that's what he is, seemed like it to me. He's my character on that atm.
I'd have to say one of my favorites, arguably one of the bests is the KoF (king of fighters) series. 2003 is pretty amazing, plently of strikes and specials to make it fun. (though kenpo reinforced with first is not realistic, still cool though). So far I've only seen KoF 2003 in arcades, but i play with my brothers on the computer
Yes, I'll have to say also that the King Of Fighters Series is pretty amazing and same thing as Fatal Fury and so it would probably be the best fighting game in my opinion.
