Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris - nuff said Tommy Lee Jones vs Benecio del Toro in "The Hunted"...Great knife fight
Easily this clip below. The Princess Bride sword fight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GT0TBWg3C3k Note- posted by others in thread merged with this one, but the link didn't work. So I thought it was worth posting again.
This is one of the most realistic fight scenes I've ever seen. There's one example of some mild efferty jeffery language in the clip so watch out. https://vimeo.com/81874785 I like the way they scrabble and grab to stay upright and knock everything over as they fall (which is realistic), how scrappy it is, how grappling (both upright and prone) and striking are mixed together, how both parties get injured, how someone else gets involved and blindsides the "winner" but really how neither person really wins.
Maybe not the 'best fight scene ever', but the most influential one on me was in "Billy Jack"... the scene in the ice cream parlor and then in the park. Stuck with me to this day and pushed me towards Hapkido!
Two more great ones in addition to my previous post: weapons: the final sword fight in "Scaramouche." no weapons: Jason Statham's basketball scene in the first "Expendables." hybrid: Fisk versus the Russian, with a car door, in "Daredevil" season 1, though I admit this makes the list only because of the car door. :jawdrop: Honestly, I put that movie at the top of my "favorite martial arts movies of all time," because, seriously, it's got loads of sword fighting, it has a wrestling match, and the hero runs around dressed like a ninja!
Also anything in the film "Scum". Perhaps not one known by the US crowd but the Brits will know it. "Who's the Daddy now?" "Where's ya tool?"
How have I not commented on this thread?! They Live. Keith David and Scotty Piper, literally fight because Keith wouldn't put on the sunglasses..it goes on for ages. Too many to list in general. Rocky 4 always gets the heart pumping though.
Best fight scene of all time is undoubtedly Craig Wasson in the climactic fight in the diner in "Four Friends". A fine example of an ability to change tactics on the fly.Certainly more realistic than anything mentioned so far. If you've frequented diners during drunk hour at any point in your life I'm sure you'll agree.Altho' as I recall in the film it happens during the day.
Jackie Chan vs Jet Li - The Forbidden Kingdom. Neo vs 100 Agent Smiths - The Matrix Reloaded. Pretty much any fight scene in The Raid or The Raid 2.
