Americans often stereotype other nations excessively.

(See the irony in that post... Oh wait.. that's another thing we hear on stereotype, that you don't comprehend irony ;) )

I find it odd that a nation, where people routinely talk during a film at the cinema, would call a nation, where people apologise to inanimate objects when they bump into them, "ill-mannered".

My wife is not European, she is from Mainland China, I meant her in the USA after she came here. But the Stereotype she had of Americans in China came from American movies and many Chinese believed, based on these movies, that Americans were all violent and unfaithful because all Americans did was jump in an out of bed with anyone they meant.

On the flip side of that, when my mother-in-law came to visit I had co-workers ask what she thought of the city I worked in, which has a population that is less that 100,000. I told them she thought it was small. Many were shocked, could not believe she thought it was small since all China had was villages.... also form movies....they were even more shocked when I told then NYC was smaller than her "home town"..... they had no idea how big the city she was from (Beijing) actually was.

America is the living embodiment of The Jeremy Kyle Show.*

(*For you Yanks, Jeremy Kyle is like Jerry Springer with less teeth and more mis-spelled tattoos.)

AS for the gun culture stereotype you find that in the rural areas more than the city. Ive lived in the city all my life. I do know how to shoot but I only own one gun.

The Dutch are famously grumpy, rude and lacking in a sense of humour, but luckily live next door to Germany so seem like happy go lucky pranksters :D

As a Chinese person raised in England. I live all the stereotypes....

*Grew up in a Chinese takeaway
    *Does Kung Fu
    *Likes Cartoons.
*Makes fun of @Chimpcheng (Cos I'm a Londoner)
*PG Tips must be of a certain colour.
*Sunday Roast is part of the food pyramid
*Teeth slightly dodgy - mostly cos get hit a lot in face.

Although I'm pretty sure, I am the part of the 2% of the British population to not follow Football and/or Cricket.

Get this...I don't like football, cricket OR rugby, I'm basically tee-total and can't stand tea. Sometimes I don't feel English/British at all. In particular not drinking alcohol makes me feel like some sort of alien in my own country.

I would like to actually be able to drink alcohol. I got the "asian glow". So 1/2 pint literally puts me on my behind (and I get itchy and red). It skipped a generation with my Dad who was able to put away 2 bottles of red a night. And as a restaurantuer it came very useful when he was matching wine with food etc.
And when I do go out with my other foody mates, I do feel a little jealous that they get to taste some (what sounds like) good mixes, whiskeys etc.
But hey, I got friends who are deadly allergic to nuts. To the point of where they can't even walk past a 5 Guys burger because they vent their peanut oil out into the street.

So my inconveniences are extremely minor in comparison.
