Let's ignore for a moment, that armed teachers aren't exaclty trained personnel and the such, or that their guns could be taken away by a student, or that they just get shot down first, or that they're too old or unwilling to use it, or... (In case it's not clear: I think the idea is dumb and dangerous) I wonder another thing from a slightly different perspective: I am a teacher (I am not in RL, I mean as a mind game), untrained unlike professionals. Now, there runs a kid amok at my school. Would I have the nerve, to go get my gun, keep calm enough to be able to use it - and actually kill a student of mine? In case I would even hit him/ her and not some bystander. I mean - we talk about "normal" people here, for whom it's most likely that they never shot a person before. Could I really shoot 1) a *kid* that I 2) might have known for years and of whom I 3) likely be aware of, that it had quite some problems? I get it - extreme situation, the kid started shooting first, yadda yadda yadda. But I am rather sure, *I* couldn't just shoot down a kid. At least I don't think I would be able to do it. Obviously I don't and can't know it; who knows, maybe I would be afraid of myself, because I *could* do it. But even if I were able to, would I also be able to lead a healthy and happy life afterwards? Despite them being the ones who "started it" and shot people in the first place. If I than would imagine press/ news stations and the such would be around for interviews, because I'm such bada$$ hero - only imagining that, and I would want to puke all over. I have two training partners that are teachers; I think I will ask one or both them next week, if they think they could do it.
They have a slightly different rating system, but a store can (or legally should) still be fined for selling to underaged customer. In effect it appears that the legislation doesn't get applied. Regardless there is a system in place which makes him sound extremely naive for suggesting about a system that clearly exists. The arming teachers.... Considering the fact that an armed guard at school did not get involved, and so many other factors just sounds to me absurd.

President Bone Spurs gives lecture about bravery Spot on social commentary. " A man who got himself five military deferments to avoid getting shot at has criticised people who won’t run towards gunfire today. Donald Trump, who suffered from ‘temporary bone spurs’ – an affliction which does not exist – to avoid military service, made a speech in which he criticised people who won’t drop everything and head towards automatic gunfire"

Ah, and here is the Trump administration being thwarted in their anti GLBT crusade by our court system- thankfully. (Ah now, where are those MAP members who kept telling me Trump was pro-GLBT? And that I wasn't giving him enough time to prove it? Those ones who said they could come on here and admit it if they were wrong?) No problem with teachers having firearms if they have the proper training. If not it could be a disaster.
Just like the armed school resource armed who had proper training? Or a different sort of training from that?
Armed teachers could save their own lives and students lives. They would need training though, like police firearms training. They would have to be teachers/security guards.
Ignoring the impracticality of actually implementing that............. WHY should teachers have to become security guards? Why should they have to put their lives on the line? They aren't LEO's, that isn't what they signed up for. They signed up to teach. Kids shouldn't have to die, but neither should teachers. Why should they take on an extra job? They already spend long hours doing their actual job. How much and what type of training should they get? I get that kids dying is tragic, but teachers are dying too. I think it is totally unfair to put the burden of this on them. They are victims in all this as well. Not to mention, I find it ridiculous that we don't even give teachers enough school supplies, books, paper, etc. but now we are going to pay for guns for them? Or are they going to be expected to pay for that themselves? Will they get extra pay for doing two jobs? IF having armed people in schools is a solution, and I am not at all sure it is, why not stop being cheap and actually hire professionals? Although even that is no guarantee. In addition to the officer Axelb mentioned, there were 3 other Sheriffs just waiting around outside. It took officers from a neighboring county to go in.
Armed teachers is just a thought. Maybe its could be implemented maybe not. trump is brainstorming there. Look at it from both sides.
And a stupid one. If he was even a half decent politician he's do the brainstorming and come to a conclusion before opening his mouth.
You tell me to look at it from both sides, but won't answer any of my questions, yet again. Have you really thought it through? The actual implementation of it? The costs, the training, the moral implications of asking teachers to basically become a type of guard? Frankly, I don't think you have. If you have, you should be able to address some of the questions I brought up. Do you have any friends who are teachers? I have lots, none seem excited by this idea- to put it nicely.
I don't have all the answers. Like I said, maybe it can be implemented or maybe not. Trump is a businessman and that's what they do, brainstorming.
Trump's not just a businessman though is hes also admitted he's batman.... I’m Batman, confirms Trump It's the only logical explanation! How else would he run in and takedown assault rifle wielding ruffians, without being armed himself!
