    exactly, very mafioso-like/besa la mano.

i've never heard of GT's son teaching PTK. I thought his nephew Thn. Rommel was next-in-line.

    I thought the same thing.

I wanted to say that I wish I was shocked or surprised with this announcement. I am not. It is becoming par for the course as far as PTK is concerned nowadays.

    Pity.

These "purges" are a cheap political tactic to gain attention from peers, pressure followers into further commitment, and remove anyone who might become a competitor within the system. The fact that they appear to be an annual event for PTK (along with the declaration of new non-nonsense rules and procedures, none of which are actioned) is a sad reflection of where this organisation is. It has become an embarrassment to itself, FMA, and the martial arts industry in general. So much so that any attempt it makes to be taken seriously ultimately ends in further ridicule. Tragic.

I'm not sure how intentional this is in terms of trying to get exposure. Honestly, I think GT Gaje has just gone a bit...

As for the rest, I agree.

"Only the few, the very few, will be allowed to stay in PTK."-Leo T. Gaje

Saw this post on GTS' facebook. It was made 2-3 weeks before the latest excommunication.

    Bizarre.

  8. per reasonable research, pekiti tirsia is the family style
of arnis/eskrima of the tortal family from
panay and negros occidental, visayas philippines
(term Kali invented by Placido Yambao in 1957, then LATER "pagkalikali" used therafter by arnisador in FEU shirt in 1962 documentary Arnis A Patling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zH0yjGvsNE&t=148s at 2:12)
per researcher Lorenz Lasco, KaliS is the pre-colonial native martial art- http://www.academia.edu/.../Kalis_The_Precolonial...

GM Gaje intially used the term Pekiti-Tirsia Arnis https://books.google.com/books?id=udYDAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA63...

major players before the politics are grandmaster
balbino, conrado, GM jerson tortal sr and jr, GM leo tortal gaje (one of the highest levels of teaching/fighting arnis/eskrima/kalis strictly on skills and teaching), rommel tortal, tim waid, mcgrath etc. pekiti made official martial arts of philippine marines 1998 thru Tim waid, ex-US marine at Subic Zambales (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbDPiGVYIQs)

like most arnes styles, pekiti tirsia has spanish influence evident in the spanish words (visayas bastion of Spanish soldiers/friars who taught
Spanish fencing to Christianized visayans mixed with native fighting to fight Moro Pirates https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAWLakbs4hI&t=90s)

    - pekiti tirsia terms like florete, bston, contradas, seguidas, espada y daga
doble baston, tersia. piquete, degaso tersia

but grandmaster gaje is also documented to study silat (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xOVJ638pXY at 5:15)
under master jaffri and added silat flavor in
    his expression of pekiti tirsia,
    silat influences:
    -melayu sibat (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQTTF2DuXIk)
    -stomping techniques
    -fluid footwork (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNm42-QKfQ0 at 2:14)
    -diamond and hourglass footwork
-silat leg traps, throws/takedowns, empty hand covers, silat harimau ground fighting aka GM gaje's "dumog" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWlhpTNHl2o, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHN6VDVr9Sg at 1:08 especially) and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F78Mx6_DaFs at 0 :11

the original family techniques of the tortals based on videos, articles
    prominent in pekiti-tirsia:
    -double force strikes
    -knife defense with forearm
-wrist lock as disarm or control
-triangle footwork (common in visayan arnis styles)
-chambering of stick (common in negrense arnis styles, for power)
    -knife jab
    -doble daga
-empty hand disarms vs knife/bolo (GM nene tortal fond of those)
florete and blade manipulations(back of blade deflections, no-contact the highest level of fighting)

picture evidence shows GM gaje studied with doce pares member
GM momoy canete specializing in espada y daga san miguel style,
which carried over to pekit tirsia (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyLSzvA6dAc at 0:45)
-double ups strikes, jabs with stick, big circular strikes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBoqxRXuYEg at 0:14)
    -cross stances
even baliog pamali (empty hand https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUBjyp7nIdE at 1:09

native dumog from panay island, per researchers, is very much like greco roman with very few ankle locks leglocks (Pastor Gumban of Antique http://westernvisayasmartialarts.blogspot.com/.../dumog...)
,and the aim is pin upper back of opponent to win (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGwNOhF1S8A)
and NO on-the-back techniques (which is BJJ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hv1ciVwIRJw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3t87N4bBCE

The Bladed Hand Documentary of Jay Ignacio, sourcing academics Prof. Jocano, Celestino Macachor, Dr. Nepangue, Daniel Foronda, Lorenz Lasco proves with Documentation/Sources the Historicity of Arnes/Eskrima/KaliS and shows that Kali is a more recent and trendy term coined by Placido yambao in 1957 and made popular by GM Gaje, Inosanto, Villabrille (those based in USA)
