Judo comp. 3 fights 3 wins 3 arm bars. Here is one of the matches: Tried to win by ippon. Wasn't happening. Done way better in terms of throwing than I thought I would. Got a few really good ones and some attempted throws that I'm pleased with. More videos to come.
Cheers man. Not too much to adapt yet. Just arm bar everyone cause I know it's allowed. Only way I could have really lost was to be ippon'd or out pointed. Really happy I attempted the drop seionage. Got a few other throws in as well which I was happy with. Hopefully they show up in other videos.
Nice work, both your armbars transitions were sweet, backtake transition and attacks from attempts to turtle are really useful in judo. Here rickson doing it with an rnc vs a judo champion.
The first guy I fought (who was in the video) was actually a BJJ player. Been training for about two years. That one was actually my longest match.
There's not so many adults in the kyu grades in judo nowadays, plus many don't compete (cause you don't have to to grade now) so you'll get quite a few BJJers at judo comps. I really should of competed more in judo when I had the chance, but they're normally so badly organised and take so long I decided to train more and have the weekends to Myself instead.
I like the attempted drop seonage I always found it hard to pull off on shorter opponents, but you did a good job dropping quick, probably just need to work setting them up and you'll hear that satisfying ippon! Also it look like you had "adapted" your shoot so you didn't grab the legs (I'm assuming it wasn't allowed in this comp like most Judo nowadays).
